Our friends at True Story Pictures can tell a story. They’ve previously won Best Documentary at Indie Memphis Film Festival with Voices of Jericho: Stories of Jail Diversion. Check out their latest, a trailer length video that follows Rico, a Jericho client, from his cell at 201 Poplar to a cap and gown.
The Jericho Project is a diversion strategy for persons with mental illness and substance abuse issues, who are in contact with the criminal justice system. It was developed by a host of local partners in order to break the cycle of incarceration faced by those with mental illness. It has helped hundreds just like Rico.
Thanks, True Story, for telling these stories of justice.
