Claire Beckett is a rising second-year law student at the University of Michigan Law School. Claire chose to work at the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender this summer because of our forward-thinking approach to public defense. Our commitment to providing client-centered services in and out of the courtroom through different means provides an impressive example for what holistic public defense work can be. Claire looks forward to the opportunity to learn from the impressive group of professionals here. When not studying or volunteering, Claire can be found being an extremely slow runner, knitting, or getting jump-scared by video games, usually not all at the same time.
