Courtney Evans

Assistant Public Defender

Courtney graduated from Mississippi State University with a B.A. in Criminology and a zeal for public defense. While in law school at the University of Mississippi, Courtney began interning at SCPD and refused to leave. She also spent time working both as a case manager and a clinic student for the Mississippi Innocence Project while in law school. Because her own internship experiences with SCPD had an enormous impact on her personally and professionally, Courtney is eager to be a resource and mentor to incoming interns. When she has free time, she can usually be found reading or ranting about something. And she’s pretty much always down for a coffee run.
