Julia Williams is a rising second-year law student at Brooklyn Law School in New York City. Julia is a fifth-generation Texan but raised in Memphis, TN. Julia made the decision to work with the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender because she felt a pull to come back and be part of the vital work that we do for Memphis. More generally, Julia came to law school to be a public defender because, in the words of Bryan Stevenson, “each person is more than the worst thing they’ve ever done.”
