Mara Roth
Georgetown University Law Center
Mara Roth is a rising second-year law student at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C. Prior to law school, Mara served as a paralegal at the Ohio Justice & Policy Center in Cincinnati, where she worked on the “Beyond Guilt Project”—an initiative to seek release for incarcerated individuals who admit guilt for serious offenses, are serving excessive prison sentence, and are prepared to safely reenter society. Mara is now an aspiring public defender and wants to dedicate her career to advocating for the rights and dignity of those impacted by the criminal legal system. Mara chose to intern at the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender because of our commitment to involving students in zealous, client-centered advocacy, strong mentorship and training opportunities.
