Rachel Walters is a rising third-year law student at the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Rachel chose to spend her summer at the Law Office of the Shelby County Public Defender because she believes it is the perfect next step in fulfilling her entire purpose for coming to law school: standing up for those who need it most. Additionally, Rachel’s grandparents have lived in Memphis for her entire life, and it is like a second home to her. Rachel cannot think of a better place to begin what she hopes to be a career in public defense. Rachel is an avid reader and frequently shares book reviews and recommendations on an Instagram account.
